Blueberry Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of chilled fresh or frozen blueberries, slightly thawed
  • 1¼ cups of apple juice, chilled
  • 1 cup low fat lemon or vanilla yoghurt
  • ¼ skim milk powder

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor and purée until thin enough to drink through a thick straw.

Tips

  • This recipe makes approximately four cups (4 x 1 cup serves). Be guided by your surgical team on the serve size appropriate for you, but more importantly, how you feel when you eat. You can easily adapt this recipe to make an appropriate serve size for you.
  • If you share the meals with family or friends (without a gastric band), they would generally require two serves of the recipe.
  • This recipe is best to drink soon after preparation, as it may separate if left to stand. If separation occurs and you wish to reuse later, purée again to serve.
